The museum will be closed to the public at 1 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday starting February 3, 2020, until June 1, 2020. The museum will open for reservations only during those weekday afternoons, for example, group museum visits, field trips, and girl scout workshops

*The Museums for All program is for income-eligible families and can only be applied with a valid LINK/EBT card and a valid form of photo ID.
**Only applies to members with a valid membership card from an ASTC/ACM-affiliated institution (ASTC/ACM logo must be on the card) and a valid form of photo ID. Discounted admissions for ASTC reciprocal memberships apply only to families AND ASTC-affiliated institutions located outside of a 90-mile radius from the Orpheum Children's Science Museum.
MUSEUM RULES
Unaccompanied Adults: Adults are not permitted to enter the OCSM without children or without being escorted by museum staff. Adults wishing to visit the museum must schedule a tour in advance. Adults with family or friends must purchase general admission or be a member to the OCSM. Business visitors must check-in with staff at the front desk.
Unaccompanied Children: Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to enter or remain in the OCSM without adult supervision. Adults must stay with their children at all times. Exceptions apply to drop-off programs such as camps, clubs, and other educational programs.
Supervision/Chaperones: Children must be supervised at all times. OCSM staff can assist parents or caregivers during their visit but do not provide childcare services. Lack of adequate adult supervision of children is grounds for immediate removal from the OCSM premises without refund.
Behavior: Rough-housing with exhibits and/or other people is not permitted. Disruptive, disrespectful, and/or abusive behavior will result in the visitor being asked to the OCSM without refund and may be grounds for revoking museum membership.
Sick Child: Children with an elevated temperature, contagious illness, or who are too sick to go to school are asked to not visit the OCSM for the safety of our visitors and staff. Individuals showing signs of illness will be asked to leave and will be given a pass to visit at another time.
Attire: Visitors are required to wear proper attire, including tops, bottoms, and shoes appropriate for a family facility. Shoes are to be worn at all times.
Food/Beverages: Food and beverages are not allowed in the OCSM. Food and drink damage exhibits and pose a safety hazard to other guests. Bringing food and/or beverages into the OCSM without prior approval may be grounds for immediate removal without refund. Drinks with lids, such as sippy cups and infant bottles, are allowed. Birthday type foods, gifts, and celebrations are only permitted with the purchase of a birthday rental party package.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms inside the OCSM are for museum visitors only and are not available to the general public.
Photography: The OCSM permits still and video photography for personal/non-commercial use. For the safety of our visitors and protection of exhibits, the use of tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks it nor permitted at any time without prior approval. Visitors may be filmed, photographed, or recorded by the OCSM for educational and promotional uses, including for posting on the OCSM website and social media platforms. Prohibitions: The OCSM is a nut-free, latex-free, alcohol-free, weapon-free, gun-free, and nicotine-free facility.
Animals: Only service animals with documentation are permitted access to the facility and grounds.
Museum Property & Grounds: The OCSM facility and grounds are private property and are for the use of museum guests and patrons only. After-hours activity on the premises is reserved for museum business only. Loitering and trespassing are not allowed and violators will be prosecuted. Alcohol service and consumptions are limited to official events and are subject to terms set forth in OCSM rental agreements. Appropriate insurance (liability, DRAM, etc.) are required for all public events hosted by OCSM and by organizations renting the OCSM facilities.
